Deborah Woods is fiercely committed to empowering moms and kids. If you’re looking for a proven professional to guide you through childhood challenges that stand in the way of your child’s happiness, you’ve come to the right place. With more than 35 years of experience working with real parents with similar worries and concerns, guiding them to achieve remarkable results, my mission and commitment is to equip parents and kids with the tools they need to be happy and close.

Facing overwhelming struggles in my own childhood and as a mom, I was determined to find answers that worked for my family and for my clients. Despite all the challenges we faced as a family, the loving connection my son, my husband, and I now share, stands as an example of what’s possible.

My Story

My passion is the result of years of tears, tantrums, research and study. I had to prove for myself that the evidence behind the strategies would get the results they promised. I combined strong credentials and professional training, with experience and resolve to get lasting changes. I have deep respect and gratitude for the parents and kids who have been my teachers and companions on the journey.

You can feel confident choosing me to help your family achieve the family closeness and joy you’re longing to have. Over the years, my expertise has been honored with distinctions, including a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a Master of Arts degree in Psychological Counseling, a National Counselor Board-Certification and State of Missouri License in Professional Counseling.

I’ve worked with hundreds of kids and spent more than 15,000 hours playing with kids in my own unique brand of play therapy.

I’ve completed more than 100 hours of training in play therapy including an intensive 2 year training program and supervision in child-centered play therapy.

I’m deeply devoted to helping kids have happy childhoods because I didn’t. I know how to heal from childhood trauma because I have not only healed but have gone on to live a wonderful and flourishing adult life.

I’ve created a unique program for parents that reveals step-by-step the methods used by professional child centered play therapists. In the comfort of their own homes, parents are equipped to create life-changing, relationship-building experiences with their children in just 30 minutes a week.
